Changelog

What's new in CertPie, as we ship it.

Long names that fit, and a layers panel

  • A new recipient name field shrinks to fit a long name instead of overflowing its box, wrapping only if it still needs more room.
  • A layers panel in the editor lists everything on the page, with drag-to-reorder, lock, and hide.
  • The editor now warns if a rotated element will block generation, before you try to generate.

Deleting certificates now removes them completely

  • Deleted certificates, and their PDF files, are now removed straight away, and the confirmation shows exactly how many were deleted.
  • If you deleted certificates before 30 October 2026, some may still be in your Certificates list. Please check it and delete them again.

Export your certificates to CSV

  • An Export CSV button on the Certificates page downloads recipient name, email, certificate number, verification ID, status, template, batch, and dates for whatever's currently filtered.
  • Clear your filters first to export everything.

Set a background color on your certificate

  • The editor now has a Background color field for the certificate canvas itself, separate from uploading a background image.
  • Find it under Page in the right panel when nothing else is selected.

Choose read-only access when connecting an app

  • When approving a connected app (Claude, or your own OAuth integration), choose Full access or Read-only before allowing it.
  • A read-only connection can view templates, batches, and certificates, but can't generate certificates or create webhooks.

Settings navigation moved to the top

  • On desktop, Settings now uses a tab bar across the top instead of a left sidebar, giving every settings page the full width to work with.

Revoking or deleting a certificate now requires admin or owner

  • Previously any team member could revoke or delete a certificate. Both now require an admin or owner, the same as managing API keys or connected apps.

Connect CertPie to Claude

  • Business workspaces can now connect CertPie to Claude as a connector: sign in once, then generate certificates, check batch status, and manage webhooks from a chat.
  • Add it from Claude's Connectors settings using certpie.com/api/mcp as the server URL. No API key to copy, no terminal.

A public API, with webhooks

  • Business workspaces can now generate certificates, check batch status, and look up templates from their own code, through a REST API. Create and revoke keys from Settings > API.
  • Subscribe a webhook to get notified the moment a batch finishes, instead of polling. Full reference at certpie.com/developers.

Delete your own workspace

  • Workspace owners can now delete their workspace from Settings, instead of contacting support.
  • Deletion schedules a 14-day grace period rather than deleting right away: your team loses dashboard access immediately, but an owner can restore the workspace any time before the 14 days are up.
  • Certificates already sent out keep verifying normally for recipients during the 14-day window.

A smoother typing cursor across the product

  • Text fields across the app, from sign in and sign up to settings and the certificate editor, now show an animated cursor that glides to where you type instead of jumping.
  • It settles instantly instead of animating if your system is set to reduce motion.

Switched to Dodo Payments

  • Dodo Payments is now the only payment provider, for India and international customers alike, at the same rupee pricing as before.
  • Downgrading a plan now sends a confirmation email and an in-app notification.

Autosave in the certificate editor

  • Changes save automatically as you work, with a local backup so a lost connection or a closed tab does not lose your edits.
  • If a save is about to overwrite a newer one from another tab or a teammate, it is stopped instead of silently replacing it.

One notification bell for everything

  • Batch-completion alerts and billing alerts (a failed payment, a plan expiring soon) now show in one place in the header.
  • Batch-completion notices are consistent across the dashboard, the certificates page, and the nav, instead of three separate, sometimes-missing surfaces.

A dashboard banner when billing needs attention

  • Organisations on a subscription now see a banner on the dashboard if a payment failed or a renewal is due within 7 days.

Certificate generation now runs in the background

  • Large batches generate on the server instead of in your browser tab, so closing the tab no longer stops a batch partway through.
  • A live progress bar shows generation as it happens, and a batch can be cancelled while it runs.
  • You get notified by email and in-app when a background batch finishes.

Sharper certificates with real, selectable text

  • Certificates can now render as vector PDFs with real text instead of a single flattened image, for sharper output.

Yearly billing, at a discount

  • Pro and Business now offer yearly billing alongside monthly, at a discount over paying month to month.

Certificate credit packs

  • Buy a one-time pack of certificate credits that never expire and stack on top of your monthly plan.
  • Credits are used only after your monthly allowance runs out, so they last as long as you need them to.

A support chatbot in the app

  • Added an in-app assistant with instant answers to common questions about generating, verifying, and billing certificates.

Delete certificates

  • Delete a single certificate, or several at once.
  • Bulk deletes require typing DELETE to confirm, since it breaks the certificates' verification links.

Invite your team, switch between workspaces

  • Invite teammates to your organisation, and they can accept or decline from a dashboard banner.
  • Switch between multiple organisations from a dropdown, if you belong to more than one.

Import your own certificate design

  • Upload your own background image and use it as a template, instead of building only from scratch in the editor.
